HSE services are invited to apply for the Tobacco Free Campus (TFC) Quality Improvement Bursary 2026–2027, a funded initiative designed to strengthen tobacco-free environments across healthcare settings. Open to acute, primary care, mental health, disability, and older persons services, the bursary supports teams to enhance implementation of Tobacco Free Campus policies while delivering practical, locally driven improvements.
Participating sites are asked to complete a short online self-audit assessing their current TFC policy implementation. Based on this, services will identify one to two priority improvement actions and submit a Quality Improvement Plan by 1 June 2026. Successful applicants will receive funding of up to €3,000 to support the delivery of their proposed actions over a 12 month period.
This initiative offers an opportunity for services to build on existing progress, engage staff and service users, and create healthier, smoke-free environments. To support services in developing their plans, the Tobacco Free Campus Implementation Guidance Document and Toolkit provides practical resources, including communication materials, signage templates, and step-by-step guidance for implementation.
