Steps to Health 2025

Steps to Health 2025 kicked off on the 11th of June, and this year, 1043 teams with 7628 staff signed up to take part in the 5 week walking/step challenge.

A whopping 1.7 billion steps were recorded on the Steps to Health platform from teams all across the country. Well done to all staff who took part in the challenge!

This year, the challenge was rolled out with a regional and local focus. The challenge was advertised in each region, teams were encouraged to sign up in their work locations and regions, and were supported and coordinated by local Health Promotion & Improvement staff.

Participation and Activity in the regions was very positive. In HSE Dublin and North East, 261 teams and 1988 staff registered, and a total of 618.7 million steps were recorded in the region during the challenge.

74% of team coordinators in the region found the experience either enjoyable (41.3%) or very enjoyable (27.0%). with 93% stating they would volunteer to be a team coordinator again. Other feedback included:

“Everyone on the team got involved and encouraged each other.”

“The challenge was great fun and a great motivator.”

“It was a great way to connect people who don’t usually work together.”
