Free Fussy Eating Webinar for Parents –Take the Fuss out of Fussy Eating

It’s perfectly normal for toddlers and small children to refuse to eat or even taste new foods.  In fact, refusing new food can be a normal stage of a child’s development. That doesn’t mean this isn’t stressful for parents when it happens.  It can also lead to a lot of conflict in a household during mealtimes.

To address this issue, Health and Wellbeing Dublin North City and County have developed a free monthly webinar on Zoom for parents, guardians, and carers of children aged 1-12 years.  The webinar, ‘Take the Fuss out of Fussy Eating’, takes place on the first Thursday of every month.

In the webinar, Senior Community Dietitians Edel McNamara and Elaine Guinan provide evidence-based information about strategies to manage fussy eating.

They discuss:
  • Potential causes of fussy eating
  • Common strategies which may make fussy eating worse
  • Practical tips on how to encourage children to accept a wider variety of foods
  • Other HSE resources available to support parents

Feedback from the webinar has been very positive with 963 participants attending in the first year of the webinar, while 84% of parents, guardians, and carers stated that they would recommend the webinar to a friend.
